Overview
ISG was awarded a £15m datacentre project for a confidential telecommunications company. The project involved the partial demolition of the ground floor of an occupied four-storey building to extend the existing structure.
The project
ISG carried out all of the demolition, construction and fit out of the new high-security datacentre. This included structural enhancements to the existing building with the addition of new steel decks to accommodate the heavy chillers required for three data halls.
The six-month programme also included extensive strengthening of the building to secure it against ram-raiding and explosions in addition to a turnkey fit out package including standby power generators, cooling, new switchgear and extensive high security.
