ISG project win for low carbon excellence at Construction News Awards
ISG’s Entopia Building’ project for the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), has won the ‘Low Carbon Project of the Year’ accolade at the prestigious Construction News Awards.
The Construction News Awards showcase and celebrate the very best in the industry and winning an award is a well-recognised badge of excellence amongst clients and peers.
“It’s an amazing achievement to have won this award for the project team and all of our partners. This should become the norm when looking at retrofit and the circular economy of existing building stock” ISG’s Director of Sustainable Operations, Peter Kelly, said of the win.

The world’s first for a retrofitted sustainable office building sets new standards for low energy use, carbon emissions and impact on natural resources as well as user experience and wellbeing measured against multiple benchmarks.
The £12.8m project in central Cambridge has achieved multiple sustainable building certifications, with more soon to be announced, including BREEAM (Outstanding), the Passivhaus ‘Enerphit’ standard, the first of its kind, Well (Gold) certification, alongside ‘circular economy’ principles to minimise the volume and impact of natural and man-made resources used in the building.
This award also follows on from the project’s recent win in the Collaboration of the Year award at the AJ 100 awards in June.
