Introduction
Following the successful completion of 225,000 sq ft fit out for the Changi Business Park Phase I, ISG was appointed again to deliver the second phase of the project, consisting five floors of activity-based environments spanning 150,000 sq ft.
Situated in the Changi Business Park II, the project aims to link two different office buildings into a single, shared facility.
The project
SCB aspires to create shared environments and activity-based workplace destinations, enabling staff and customers to switch environments as they spend time on different activities at any time of the day.
The fit out of the project spans five floors, bringing together 1,500 staff and customers into the new facility, as part of the SCB new global accommodation guidelines launched in Phase I.
The new facility incorporates a variety of spaces that range from the café on the ground floor, themed breakout and collaboration areas across the floors, meeting and conference facilities and IT rooms.
Regardless the challenges posed by an evolving brief, our team adhered to the contracted construction programme and ensured that key milestones were achieved, yet maintaining a flexible approach for our client to address critical improvements to the design. Other challenges include understanding and capturing the design brief from different stakeholders whilst managing the overall project expectations as it continues to evolve. FF&E supplies with long lead time were likely to impact major site works, hence procured and installed in advance to meet targeted dates.
Throughout the project, our team maintained consistent feed of information between all project stakeholders, keeping everyone informed with the latest project updates. Our flexible approach to this project has made it possible for our client to plan and create the right confluence of spaces which is critical to the bank’s overall global objective in achieving a successful work environment.
