Overview
In Singapore, we completed the refurbishment of the facade and front of house areas of the Royal Plaza on Scotts. Located in the heart of the bustling Orchard Road tourist and shopping precinct, the hotel continued to trade throughout the project which included complex exterior and interior works.
The main structural elements included new steel framing for the porte-cochere and bow deck slabs, steel frames for the new lift shaft and steel members to support the new stone facade. The existing building line was extended from level 1 to level 5 before it was clad with Thalia limestone.
The hotel’s porte-cochere, entrance, and lobby all feature high-quality finishes including imported marble floors and columns, complemented by decorative plaster ceilings. On level two a new timber deck was constructed over the porte-cochere to form an exciting new outdoor dining space.
