Introduction
ISG completed a nine-month construction programme delivering management contractor services to Louis Vuitton’s island Maison store in Singapore, one of the world’s largest Louis Vuitton boutique – second only to the brand's flagship Champs-Elysees store in Paris. Housed in Crystal Pavilion North, one of two stand-alone glass and steel pavilions overlooking the Marina Bay promenade– covering five levels in total – ISG managed the complete delivery of this 46,000 sq ft complex space.
The project
Louis Vuitton’s selection of the North Crystal pavilion at Marina Bay Sands provided a unique site for the delivery of the brand’s first flagship store in Singapore. Accessible via a underground link tunnel from the main shopping mall complex, the luxury boutique on water consists of five floors from B2 to L3 and provides a dramatic visitor experience.
The Louis Vuitton store project team and design team were all based remotely from the site which required a local main contractor to take full responsibility for the delivery and implementation of the project in line with Louis Vuitton’s specialist vendors and suppliers.
The scope of works for the project included all MEP infrastructure, fit out of the front of house and back of house areas - including millworks, specialist sunshades and lighting - AV, security and all external signage.
A key challenge for the delivery team was to respond quickly to the frequent changes of a luxury retail brand seeking to reaffirm its position as the world’s leading luxury retailer.
The works were completed within the prescribed programme, and within the client’s budget parameters, demonstrating the flexibility of the ISG operation to react quickly to client requirements in a competitive and efficient manner.
