Introduction

Following the completion of Pier Head Ferry Terminal, ISG was awarded a further phase of works with Merseytravel to create a new extension of the Beatles Story visitor attraction inside the terminal

The Project

Occupying the first floor attraction space, the Beatles Story is based around an interactive 4D theatre space as well as a flexible exhibition gallery and a new Beatles themed shop.

Under a Design and Build contract ISG was responsible for the overall design of the attraction including the shop, ticketing facilities and flexible exhibition spaces, a pre-theatre holding zone and a post theatre exit zone. The 40-seater Fab4D theatre takes guests on a multisensory 4D journey. Alongside the new 4D theatre, and accessed via the shared pre-theatre lobby, is the new exhibition gallery.

Beatles Story Pier Head is also home to White Feather: The Spirit of Lennon, a personal new exhibition, presented by Julian and Cynthia Lennon, showcasing previously unseen Beatles heirlooms.
