Overview
Hongkong Land awarded the refurbishment of the main north and south reception areas at One Raffles Link to ISG. Originally completed in 2000, the building was designed by world-renowned New York architects Kohn Pedersen Fox and its major tenants include global investment banking organisations.
The project
The project commenced with the demolition of the existing flooring and sections of the ceilings in the areas designated for refurbishment. This was followed by the installation of new stone floors and ceilings complete with new contemporary lighting. New reception desks were installed in each lobby, along with enhancements to the lighting of the feature walls. The lobbies were completed with the upgrade of the lift car finishes and new directional signage
The outcome
Our scope of works in the main reception areas also included new security turnstiles and we upgraded the drop-off area’s high ceilings with new lighting. As the building was tenanted throughout the project, our team developed a logistics plan and programme of works that did not impact on the building’s daily activities, with strict attention paid to the health, safety and welfare of tenants and visitors to One Raffles Link. This included works being undertaken between 11pm to 6am each day and on weekends.
Work on the north and south reception areas was undertaken in phases to ensure that tenants and visitors had continual access throughout the project. Phases were demarcated by full height hoardings that provided a safe and aesthetic barrier to the works. The new turnstiles were installed over a weekend so that security was not compromised.
