Silver success in support of our armed forces community
ISG’s commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant has now been recognised with a Silver award as part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
The announcement came at the start of a week of activity planned in support of Armed Forces Day in the UK, which provided a chance to show our support for the men and women who make up the armed forces community: from serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.
Armed Forces Day took place on 25 June and ahead of this, Reserves Day on 22 June provided an opportunity for the country to recognise our Reserve Forces.
We championed our armed forces community across the week, sharing their stories, along with hosted events in our offices to raise awareness and funds for important charities and initiatives including Blind Veterans UK and Combat to Coffee, with a visit from founder, Nigel Seaman.
Our team of armed forces champions catches up regularly with events which encourage networking and learning. They met during the week to celebrate the Silver ERS award, and discuss what more we can do as a business to support the armed forces community.
As part of our commitments, we provide employment opportunities for service leavers, support for reservists and cadets, and are engaged with a number of armed forces charities. There is also extra support available from ISG’s ‘More for you’ employee benefits package.

“I have been inspired by the level of commitment shown by our people in supporting the armed forces; from the additional benefits we provide as a business, to training, mentoring and employment, and fundraising initiatives. Hearing our own colleagues' stories is immensely powerful and provides great advocacy. Our Silver award recognises this significant commitment and can only serve to enhance our work in the UK defence sector and further our ambitions to achieve sustained and impactful social outcomes.”
