ISG launches UK charity partnership with Mental Health UK

We’re excited to officially announce our UK charity partnership with Mental Health UK, which will run from 2019-2021.

Giving something back to our communities supports our value to ‘always care’, and, earlier this year, #TeamISG across the UK cast their votes to choose Mental Health UK as our new UK charity partner.

To officially launch our partnership, #TeamISG has donated £100,000 to kick start our fundraising goal of £300,000 over the next three years.

Mental Health UK seeks to improve the lives of those affected by poor mental health, including carers and family members, throughout communities across the UK.

They have successfully supported people for over 40 years, delivering 400 services and 200 support groups to make a true difference to people’s lives.

Living with a mental health condition can impact many aspects of your everyday life, from your physical health and your home life, to your work and even your ability to manage money.

Every year, Mental Health UK provides thousands of people with practical advice and information to help understand and manage their mental health.

The charity campaigns for the rights of those severely affected by mental illness, and brings people with common experiences together to share and learn from their experiences, and support each other.

Over the next three years, ISG in the UK will be giving something back, raising awareness and much-needed funds to support Mental Health UK.

Many people say that the stigma relating to poor mental health is worse than the illness itself.

In England alone, three million people sought help from their GP in 2018 for low mood symptoms.

A key goal of our partnership with Mental Health UK is to destigmatise ill mental health and encourage people to talk to someone if they need support.

Brian Dow, managing director of Mental Health UK, said: “ISG’s commitment to making mental health a part of everyday conversations is fantastic news.

“It is another big step forward towards a society that understands and accepts that mental illness can affect all of us, no matter who we are.

“We’d like to thank ISG for its support, and we look forward to working closely with them over the next 3 years to help bring genuine change to people’s lives.”
