Tom Smith, Chief Commercial Officer

Tom Smith was appointed to ISG’s Statutory Board in January 2022. He has over 25 years’ experience working in the construction industry, starting as a Trainee Surveyor in 1994, covering large commercial and residential projects including Stadia and Laboratory projects of varying complexity. Tom was part of the successful delivery team for the Olympic Velodrome, London 2012 Olympics, quoted as “an ingenious ergonomic object that is honed to unrivalled efficiency”. 

Tom joined ISG in 2007 as a commercial manager affording him a wide breadth of knowledge and best practice. He is personable and client driven, ensuring stakeholder expectations are implemented and disseminated throughout each element of every project delivery.  He possesses excellent analytical and communication skills and is meticulous in implementing cost and value reporting. 

With excellent commercial awareness in all aspects and stages of build, Tom understands the importance of a clear, honest and transparent service.  He enjoys collaborative teamworking and believes strongly in building good relationships.

His natural strengths afford Tom the ability to strategically manage contractual solutions, he has launched initiatives such as strategic partnership events, working closely with our supply chain, in line with his collaborative approach.
