Introduction
As the oldest luxury hotel collection in the world, the Kempinski name is associated with the highest standards of luxury and impeccable personal service. This cherished tradition can be felt throughout the 48,000 m2 Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, which opened in April 2006, as the first property in the city of Dubai.
ISG refurbished 393 bedrooms, spanning over 339,000 sq ft, and updated external areas at the iconic Kempinski Mall of the Emirates.
The project
The client wanted to refit all hotel bathrooms and carry out individual makeovers to the bedrooms. We also transformed guest rooms, suites and ski chalets; as well as updating hospitality and leisure spaces.
The added value
Upgraded reception area, a wood panel remodelled bar complete with a mosaic ceiling and private dining facility, all day dining restaurant, kitchens and 393 bedrooms, including more than 20 suites with balconies on the upper floors, were extensively upgraded. This involved major strip out works in a rolling sequence of floors to maintain the clients programme. In addition, major structural works were undertaken to sheer walls where new meeting rooms were created.

All of the above was undertaken within a logistically challenging, extremely restricted site with a brief from the client that we should be invisible.
